Côtes du Rhône, Domaine de la Bastide (“Bastide vineyard”), cuvée des Figues (“Cuvée of the Figs”):

Classic and sophisticated. One of our favourite bottles from the entire collection, this Côtes du Rhône red from the cuvée des Figues (“Cuvée of the Figs”) is truly special and exceptional good value. Vincent Boyer, the winemaker, is what we call in France ‘a complete man’ – argonismist, organist, rugby player and father of four children. Just like him, his Côtes du Rhône red is generous but well-balanced with aromas and flavours of red fruits, blackberries and cassis, with a deep, inviting, purple colour – almost like black ink. Delightful! Vincent knows how to make the most of the magnificent soil of Uchaux, in the Avignon region. On this land, the great grape varieties of the South of France flourish: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre and Carignan. From the vineyards you can just about see the “lace of Montmirail” – one of the most beautiful landscapes in all of France. Bring this magic landscape to your table with this gem.
