Wine Description
We have the Romans to thank for this classic and sophisticated Côte-Rôtie red. During peace time, soldiers stationed in Vienne and Lyon were bored, so they built one of the steepest vineyards in France. The rare soils of the region give a wine with a unique taste, sought by all Syrah growers around the world. The real secret of this Côte-Rôtie red wine is that Syrah is actually not the only variety used. For a long time, wine growers have been planting in their plots a few vines of the Viognier grape. The grapes are harvested at the same time as the Syrah… this is the “manufacturing secret” that changes everything.
Deep ruby in colour, the nose reveals itself through an exciting expression where the refined fruit is next to the aromatic, spicy and roasted notes.
