Wine Description
Adventurous and bold. The wines from the Domaine de la Pinède (“Pinewood Vineyard”) are indeed powerful. When they are young, you will find aromas of black fruit. After many years of aging, which suits this wine so well, it smells like leather. This Châteauneuf du Pape red is smooth and comforting with a bold blend of blackcurrant, blackberry, garrigue and spices from the old Grenache vines. The Châteauneuf du Pape is a legendary variety known all over the world.
The vines are grown on an exceptional soil of pebbles, which always amazes visitors. How can vines grow when planted in pebbles? And yet the do! 13 grape varieties are authorized for the production of the wine, a French record. Of course, few winegrowers cultivate them all, but it gives you an idea of of the richness of this variety.
